Donna A. Tobin established and oversees the firm's trademark prosecution practice and leads the Intellectual Property group. She focuses her practice on intellectual property and has been providing large and small clients in various industries, including the health and wellness, financial services, and food and beverage industries, with trademark litigation, prosecution, and counseling services for over thirty-five years. Intellectual property is at the forefront of new technologies and industries, and Donna continually adapts and expands her practice to address them, such as cannabis and artificial intelligence (“AI”). In 2017, Donna was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve a three-year term on the Trademark Public Advisory Committee ("TPAC") of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including as a member of the Office of Policy and International Affairs subcommittee. She is also the editor of Trademarks Throughout The World, a Thompson Reuters publication.
Marc E. Hirschfield leads the firm's New York office and chairs the firm's Business Restructuring and Bankruptcy practice. He concentrates his practice on bankruptcy, business restructuring, creditors' rights, litigation, and debt finance. He represents parties in bankruptcy proceedings and related litigation across the country. He has specialized in financial fraud cases where he has recovered many billions of dollars for the victims in several Ponzi scheme cases. Marc is also a court-certified mediator and has been appointed to mediation panels by the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Delaware and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Marc Skapof is a partner in the firm's Business Restructuring and Bankruptcy practice, specializing in out-of-court and in-court restructurings, creditors' rights, and debtor and estate fiduciary representations. His expertise also extends to debt financing, encompassing healthy and distressed lending, DIP, and exit financing. Additionally, he has a deep understanding of bankruptcy litigation, distressed M&A, corporate governance, and bankruptcy-remote transactions. Throughout his career, Marc has successfully recovered billions of dollars in stolen assets from the largest Ponzi scheme in history, achieved through numerous settlements and litigations. Notably, he was named a Fulbright Scholar to study Poland's transition to democracy in 1994-1995.
