Royer Cooper Cohen Braunfeld LLC Names New Partners and Counsel
Growing Firm Promotes Three to Partner and One to Counsel
Royer Cooper Cohen Braunfeld LLC (RCCB), announced today the promotion of attorneys Pamela J. Zimlin, Karen L. Corliss and Dustin Covello to Partner and Sean S. Litz to Counsel. Pamela, Karen and Dustin are resident in the firm’s Conshohocken office, and Sean works in the firm’s Philadelphia office. The promotions were effective January 1, 2016.
“As our firm continues to grow, we wanted to continue to recognize the amazing dedication and achievements of our more senior attorneys,” said Roger Braunfeld, Partner at RCCB. “Our people are the key to our success, and it is important that they and the marketplace are aware of that.”
Pamela Zimlin, an attorney with RCCB since its founding, concentrates her practice in the areas of general corporate, transactional, and securities law matters. Pamela handles such diverse matters as venture capital financings, private placements of securities, mergers and acquisitions, business restructurings, and counseling clients on employment and consulting agreements.
“Pamela has been an integral part of our corporate department from the beginning, and this promotion to Partner is a natural step,” said John Royer, Partner at RCCB. “I look forward to working with Pamela as she takes on this new leadership role, and the responsibilities it entails. Everyone in the firm relies on Pamela for her expertise in her practice, and she has shown a high level of success in meeting the needs of her clients.”
Karen Corliss also practices in RCCB’s corporate group, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, venture capital transactions, and corporate finance matters. Karen also counsels clients in connection with commercial contracts, employment and consulting matters, and corporate governance matters.
“Karen has made an amazing transition from working at a larger firm to our business-oriented boutique firm,” said Neil Cooper, Partner at RCCB. “Karen has shown tremendous growth as a professional within the firm, while simultaneously taking on more responsibilities in the corporate practice group. She has shown an ambition to excel, and we couldn’t be prouder to promote her to Partner and look forward to her future accomplishments.”
Dustin Covello is an attorney in the firm’s tax practice. Dustin advises his clients, both domestic and international taxpayers and businesses, on many issues including effective structuring and tax disputes. Dustin uses his tax expertise to assist RCCB’s other practices, such as corporate and wealth and estate planning.
“Dustin has been an asset to all of RCCB’s practice groups thanks to his knowledge and application of a wide range of transactional and other tax matters,” said David Kovsky, Partner at RCCB. “We have watched Dustin develop into someone we can proudly call a Partner, and cannot wait to see his continuing contributions to not only his clients, but the firm as a whole.”
Sean Litz is one of the firm’s original attorneys in the litigation department. Sean concentrates his practice on commercial litigation and business disputes, focusing on complex litigation, intellectual property litigation, and regulatory matters involving the transportation industry.
“Sean has been someone I have counted on since day one, and our clients routinely rely on his counsel and advice in all aspects of litigation,” said Barry L. Cohen, Partner at RCCB. “I look forward to seeing his reputation grow as a go-to advocate serving the region’s businesses.”
